Editorial changes at Clavier Companion
The Frances Clark Center is pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of Dr. Pete Jutras. Dr. Jutras is stepping down from his role as Editor-in-Chief after serving for eleven years in that capacity. Jutras, who is Professor of Piano and Associate Director at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at The University of Georgia in Athens, GA, served as Editor of Keyboard Companion from 2007-2008. In 2009, he helped to oversee the merger of Keyboard Companion and Clavier, leading to the creation of Clavier Companion, which will soon enter its tenth year of publication. In addition to facilitating the merger, Jutras helped lead the magazine to its first digital edition in 2011 and has worked to develop Clavier Companion's new website, which will contain all the published archives of both magazines in addition to wide array of other pedagogical writings and content. This new website represents an exciting step forward for the piano teaching profession, and its searchable repository of thousands of articles will serve as a definitive resource for pianists and piano teachers. Jutras will remain involved as a senior advisor to Clavier Companion.
Dr. Deborah Rambo Sinn will serve as Interim Editor-in-Chief of Clavier Companion magazine. Sinn has recently been serving as Director of Digital Content and Operations for Clavier Companion. She holds a doctorate degree from Indiana University, where she studied with Menahem Pressler, and she is the author of the popular book Playing Beyond the Notes (Oxford University Press, 2013). In addition, she has a wealth of teaching experience at the collegiate and pre-collegiate levels. Clavier Companion is pleased to bring Dr. Sinn's expertise and knowledge to our readers. Clavier Companion plans a search for a new Editor-in-Chief in 2018.
