Steven Egler is Professor of Music (Organ) Emeritus at Central Michigan University where he is still teaching organ as Visiting Professor. He began teaching at C.M.U. in 1976, at which time he also became Organist and Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, where he served for thirty-five years. He has performed across the United States as well as in Canada, France, and Norway, and has been active in the American Guild of Organists for many years. In addition to his passion for the music of Gerald Near and Charles W. Ore, as well as his series of interviews for The Diapason, he is especially interested in providing accessible music for pianists who seek good-quality organ repertoire that is not too demanding or overwhelming, particularly in the pedal department!
