Costa Rican pianist Juan Pablo Andrade is a sought after soloist, recitalist, collaborative artist and clinician. As a soloist he has performed with over 20 orchestras including the Greensboro Symphony, South Bend Symphony, Powder River Symphony, Bolivian National Symphony, University of Costa Rica Symphony and on many occasions with the National Symphony of Costa Rica. He has performed solo recitals across the US, as well as in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Bolivia, Colombia, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Serbia, Norway and Greece. An active collaborator, his CD with violinist Betul Soykan titled War to Peace (Centaur) has received rave reviews in Fanfare magazine. He is the recipient of numerous awards including First Prize at the Artlivre International Piano Competition, and the Costa Rican National Prize of Music, awarded by the Costa Rican Ministry of Culture. Dr. Andrade is an Associate Professor of Piano at UTRGV, and a regular guest at international piano festivals, including the Semper Music International Festival (Italy), Global Summer Institute of Music in Richmond (VA), and Curso de Perfeccionamiento Piano EAFIT (Colombia).
