Elyse Mach is Distinguished Professor of Music and the Bernard J. Brommel Distinguished Research Professor at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Mach’s honors include the Liszt Silver Medal awarded by The American Liszt Society, and she was the first recipient of the Board of Governors Universities Distinguished Professor Award from the state of Illinois. She is the author of ten books on piano and pianists, including Contemporary Class Piano, now in its seventh
